| Abstract: | This perceptive volume explores how European foreign policy is shaped by the increasing integration among national, transnational and international actors in Europe and across the Atlantic. While traditionally most theoretical models in International Relations focus on single actors or levels, Elke Krahmann develops a multilevel network approach which helps to explain foreign policy decision- making in a region where national and systemic borders are rapidly losing their significance. Integrating the British policy network approach with rational choice theory, the author illustrates how the interactions among a multiplicity of public and private actors define the European policies of national governments and international organizations. |
