Abstract: | "Journalism and the web" - illuminates key dynamics within contemporary journalism, charting the processes involved as it has been making the transition to its online forms. his empirical point of departure is the Slovenian case, yet, as Vobič and research in several demonstrate, there are international patterns to be elucidated within each specific national context. Through a multi-disciplinary prismatic approach that makes use of historical, social organisational, cultural and political perspectives, Vobič provides us with detailed analysis of the situation in one country. Via an up-to-date command of the extensive international research literature on journalism's transitions to online formats, Vobič demonstrates how much of what we see in the Slovenian case resonates with global patterns, or more accurately: how global patterns have found their way into and helped shape the Slovenian context. |
