Abstract: | Following the process of introducing the reforms with EU’s Lisbon Treaty in the field of the foreign and security policies, and NATO’s new concepts, the cooperation between these two overlapping major players in crisis management has not become easier, but rather it is getting more difficult from time to time. The book analyzes how effective the EU- NATO cooperation in crisis management has been until the Lisbon Treaty (2009) and the new Strategic Concept (2010); and how the EU and NATO will or should intermingle in order to cope with the changing security environment after the reforms with these two documents? So far, EU- NATO relations have been far from the “strategic partnership” that it was assumed it would be. |
Contents note: | The new European security architecture for the viewpoint of the EU-NATO relations in the XXI century; The post-Lisbon scene : the EU’s next directions and commitments in the field of crisis management; NATO’s commitment in the field of crisis management with its new Strategic Concept; The EU and NATO : between complementary and competition after the EU’s Lisbon Treaty and NATO’s new Strategic Concept; The future relations between NATO and the EU in the crisis management field : next directions, perspectives, scenarios and commitments; |
