Der Lexikologie, die sich mit Wörtern und Wortschätzen be-fasst, kommt daher eine Schlüsselstellung in der Sprachwissenschaft zu. Diese Einführung macht Studierende, Dozenten und Lehrer mit den grund-legenden Fragestellungen und Methoden der Lexikologie vertraut. Im Zentrum stehen dabei Fragen der Wortbedeutung: Wie lässt sich die Vielfalt der Bedeutun¬gen, die ein Wort haben kann, linguistisch beschreiben? Wie und warum verän¬dern sich Wortbedeutungen? Wie hängen die Bedeutungen verschiedener Wörter miteinander zusammen? Wie werden Wörter von Kindern erlernt, wie werden sie im Gedächtnis gespeichert und abgerufen? Alle Forschungsergebnisse zu diesen und verwandten Fragen werden in knapper Form und auf dem jeweils aktuellsten Stand dargelegt. Dr. Volker Harm ist seit 2011 Leiter der Göttinger Arbeitsstelle „Deutsches Wör-terbuch von Jacob Grimm und Wilhelm Grimm". Forschungsschwerpunkte sind Lexikologie und Lexikographie, historische Grammatik des Deutschen und Kons¬truktionsgrammatik.
