Didaktika shkolloreështë definuar si fushë e kerkimeve në kuadër të arsimit te pergjithshëm. Koren obrazovanja seže od sloven ske reči obraz, lice, lik, što znači da je povezano sa negovanjem, kultivisanjem, gajenjem i stvaranjem lika pojedinca. Takođe i grčke reči morfé, haraktér, trópos - znače osnivanje, sastavljanje, tvorenje, oblikovanje čoveka. Shodno prethodnom etimološkom utemeljenju, obrazovanje je proces duhovnog formiranja čoveka, njegove ličnosti, kultivisanje njegove samosvesti i društvene sves ti. Obrazovanje je rezultat tog nikad završenog procesa. Ono nije samo sticanje i posed informacija, katalogizacija činjenica i pa sivnog znanja, već je to sistem saznanja koji kao motivišući činilac utiče na čovekovo shvatanje sveta, njegovih teorijskih, političkih stavova i uverenja.
