| Class number: | 028.1 | Abstract: | The Albanian national question is arguably the last major ethnic issue facing Europe today. This volume examines the origins and progress of that issue through the twentieth and into the twenty – first century. While the Albanian question had attracted some attention during the nineteenth century, it firs became a significant European diplomatic issue at the London Conference of Ambassadors (1912 – 1913). The Conference remains one of the key milestones in the history of the Albanian national question, Balkan history, and in the history of modern European diplomacy in general. The consequences of the decisions of the Conferences still have an impact today, fully one century later. The geopolitical maneuvering at the Conference create an entirely new Balkan political map, creating new states, while at the same time dividing ethnic groups. | Contents note: | Reka, Blerim / Fischer, Bernd: Editorial Note; Yvon, Christopher: London Ambassadors Conference: 100 Years Later; Auer, Laurence: La position française à la Conférence des ambassadeurs de Londres; Reka, Blerim: The Geopolitics of London One Century Later: The Last Regime of Unchanged European Borders; Fischer, Bernd: Albanian Nationalism and Albanian Independence; Pettifer, James: Ideology and Bibliography: The League of Nations and Albania After 1923; Wilton, Robert: Answering The Wrong Question: 100 Years Of Misreading The Balkans; Popovski, Vlado: The Different Fates of Albania and Macedonia at the London Conference of Ambassadors 1912-1913; Krisafi, Ksenofon: The International Legal Status of Albania from the End of the London Conference of Ambassadors to the End of the First World War; Shabani, Fejzulla / Bajrami, Demush: Treatment of the Albanian Issue at the London Conference of Ambassadors and the Geopolitical Consequences for the Balkans; Ahmetaj, Lavdosh / Sinani, Arsim: Wilson and European Policy in Albania (1918-1920); Panchev, Anton: The Position of Bulgaria with Regard to the Albanian Factor in Macedonia During the London Conference of Ambassadors; Orzechowska, Ida: European Security Capabilities in the Region of the Western Balkans in the Beginning of the Twenty-First Century; Asani, Skender / Prishtina, Mehmet: The Albanian Question at the London Conference of Ambassadors from the Perspective of the Bulgarian Diplomacy; Halili, Albulena: The Albanian National Question - The Final Piece of the Unsolved Balkan Puzzle?; Vickers, Miranda: Why and to what Extent Did the Governments of Greece and Serbia Seek to Prevent the Emergence of the Albanian State?; Milo, Paskal: The Great Powers And The Albanian Question: Dynamics Of The Evolution Of A Relationship; | Link for e-copy: | http://www.degruyter.com/view/j/seeur.2014.10.issue-1/issue-files/seeur.2014.10.
