| Abstract: | Sexual harassment of working women has been one of the most pervasive but carefully ignored features of out national life. As women's liberation makes progress, the facts are beginning to come into the open and the profound implications for our society are beginning to be understood. We have even reached a point where the law may start to do something about the problem. Up to the present time, however, no comprehensive treatment of the social and legal issues has been available. Catharine MacKinnon's study of sexual harassment in the working place makes a unique contribution at several levels. First of all it provides a skillful analysis of the legal questions which are posed in the emerging effort to use the law to support women who seek to challenge the patterns and practices of sexual harassment.
