“All of us do not have equal talent, but all of us should have an equal opportunity to develop our talent” – John F. Kennedy. A famous quote by John Kennedy was an encouraging element to decide and work on the needs of Gifted and Talented children. The purpose of this thesis is to explore the approach of English Language gifted and talented children in their schools by the teachers, school administration and society. Its focus was on younger students in their first and second grades in order to find out whether their needs are being accomplished. The research was conducted in the Republic of Macedonia and in order to come to accurate results, we used three instruments: interviews with teachers, questionnaires for parents and class observation. The first instrument, the teachers’ interview, was conducted in thirteen elementary classes, in public and private schools. The second instrument, questionnaires for parents, were questions about their child interest and development but unfortunately, it has to be noted that parents interest as part of this research, was not as expected. Only four parents accepted to answer the questions. The last instrument, the class observation was performed in three classes. This study reveals whether the differentiated teaching methods were used in teaching the English language to young gifted learners; put it in the focus of the educational institutions and teachers the importance of gifted and talented children education. Also the identification of gifted and talented children in an earlier age, on primary classes, what their characteristics are, finding out their needs and how to nurture, give them the opportunity to excel in the realm they are gifted. Hopefully, the gathered data from the study will prove that the main reasons that lead many gifted and talented students to success are the teaching strategies used, the support they get from educational institutions and parents awareness for their child giftedness or talent. Additionally, this research seeks to help teachers follow students’ advancement in the subject from a different point of view.Link for e-copy: https://repository.seeu.edu.mk/sites/thesis/ThesisSharedDocs/MA_111810.pdf Record link: https://library.seeu.edu.mk/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=18447 Copies

The main purpose of this thesis is to investigate the effectiveness of using Blogging in classroom to support English teaching as a second language (ESL). Due to the technology development and its more and more dominant influence in students’ everyday life the topic about blogging seems to be quite relevant to examine as we believe that the use of blogging can encourage learners’ creativity, interaction, sharing of ideas and comments and motivate both teachers and learners. Therefore, this research reports the investigation of using blogging in ESL with high school students of intermediate level of ESL. The implementation of technology inside second language classes through blogs tends to include students in a cycle of attractive activities, it enhances their English language acquisition and their attitudes, moreover teacher become more facilitators and students become active learners. The participants of this research study cover 10th grade students’ of ESL, attending public school “Frang Bardhi”. The students were shown different models of blogs, as another method teaching for the same topics of English as they normally learn from their school books. Through blogs students were exposed to different activities in ESL, especially to make it easier the communication, understanding and performance of a new language. The aim of this research study by using the mentioned method of teaching is the measure of the students’ different and modern ways of teaching. This thesis aim to find out if students’ concentration rises when internet and technology was used as a form of teaching? Using blogs as another form of helping students’ in understanding rather than by theoretical methods is the main scope issue of the research, and finally finding out of how much students enjoy and change the attitude of teaching through technology tools and social media. The research was realized by conducting three instruments in English classes: a prepared exam by English teacher in order to measure students’ understanding of ESL through blogs, teachers’ interview which helps gaining information about students’ attitude toward blogs effectiveness in students’ concentration and motivation inside the class and a students’ questionnaire which responds about their motivation, attitude and help of understanding (SL) by presence of technology and information in classes. The findings of this research show that blog is an effective tool in teaching and learning a SL, students of this study demonstrate this because they performed better when technology and new methods of teaching were used in English classes rather than being taught only by books. This study reveals that teachers also accepted that changing methods while teaching help students to be more concentrated motivated and understand easier. Finally it was clearly obvious by students’ responses through the questionnaires that they really enjoy changes inside the classes, especially in (ESL) ones, they had totally positive attitudes toward this new method in teaching/learning a SL. The thesis tries to examine if the usage of demonstration method to teach English Language in high school, specifically to students of design, is beneficial and effective for their proficiency as second language learners. The demonstration method is considered worth exploring since teachers and students are the ones who benefit from it. Hence, demonstration method is regarded as a very useful method for teaching and learning process because it helps teachers and students to clarify, practise and understand things better. To measure the impact of demonstration method in the process of teaching and learning, qualitative and quantitative methods are conducted. This study took place at the high professional school ‘’ Center of Competence ‘’ located in the municipality of Skenderaj and the participants that have been selected for the study were English Language professors as well as design students of tenth, eleventh and twelfth grade. These students learn English as a second language and their level of English is intermediate. Thus, the study included three English professors and eighty - eight design students who had to accomplish two dissimilar questionnaires and the data collected from them covered their perceptions as well as reactions towards the demonstration method and its efficiency. It is worth mentioning, the questionnaires are carefully analyzed. Additionally, 88 design students had to do an experiment too (controlled and experimental ones) just to see if demonstration method is more helpful and applicable than other methods. The duration of the survey was a month and the sessions were conducted two days a week. The answers of every professor and student showed the approach and interest in improving their level of English for their future profession. The findings of this study are expected to be gainful for the current and future English instructors, design students and everyone who wants to learn English Language. When thinking about the skills and their development one of the most important and fundamental is writing. Teaching writing has never been an easy task to do, on the contrary, it is quite complex and requires a considerable time to achieve. But, children who are eager to learn a new language and gain more information about that particular language is what keeps teachers’ engagement on the line. This thesis discussed obstacles and solutions thought by the English teachers on the way to better learn pupils’ writing. This research has shown some of the most expressed typical problems of learning, writing to young learners according to the answers that have been given by some English language teachers who teach young ages. This research aimed to discover why teaching English writing to young learners is a difficult task for teachers and pupils too. Methods that were used have been quantitative and qualitative; stakeholders were answering questions on a questionnaire, direct classroom observation and also literature research. The questionnaire consisted of ten questions, and some classes were observed. This research was done in a primary school ‘'Gjon Serreci''-Mogillë (Kosovë) ‘', and also with some teachers of a private language school’’ Speak up’’ located in Prishtina (Kosovë). The teachers who answered were dealing with the ages of 6 and 10 as they are mostly facing these problems and dealing with the foreign language for the first time. The reason why those ages have been chosen is for the purpose that starting from last year young learners in Kosova are learning the English language as their second language from the age of 5, whereas earlier they started to learn English from age 8. Hence, English teachers who are teaching in those schools were observed to see how do they teach and how do they deal with obstacles of teaching writing to young. The results gathering from the teacher’s questionnaire are expected to highlight teacher’s perceptions upon the writing skills to the young learners. On the other hand, the results from observations done by researcher indicate how writing methods and techniques have an impact on them. Link for e-copy: https://repository.seeu.edu.mk/sites/thesis/ThesisSharedDocs/MA_127694.pdf Record link: https://library.seeu.edu.mk/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=19500 Copies
