“All of us do not have equal talent, but all of us should have an equal opportunity to develop our talent” – John F. Kennedy. A famous quote by John Kennedy was an encouraging element to decide and work on the needs of Gifted and Talented children. The purpose of this thesis is to explore the approach of English Language gifted and talented children in their schools by the teachers, school administration and society. Its focus was on younger students in their first and second grades in order to find out whether their needs are being accomplished. The research was conducted in the Republic of Macedonia and in order to come to accurate results, we used three instruments: interviews with teachers, questionnaires for parents and class observation. The first instrument, the teachers’ interview, was conducted in thirteen elementary classes, in public and private schools. The second instrument, questionnaires for parents, were questions about their child interest and development but unfortunately, it has to be noted that parents interest as part of this research, was not as expected. Only four parents accepted to answer the questions. The last instrument, the class observation was performed in three classes. This study reveals whether the differentiated teaching methods were used in teaching the English language to young gifted learners; put it in the focus of the educational institutions and teachers the importance of gifted and talented children education. Also the identification of gifted and talented children in an earlier age, on primary classes, what their characteristics are, finding out their needs and how to nurture, give them the opportunity to excel in the realm they are gifted. Hopefully, the gathered data from the study will prove that the main reasons that lead many gifted and talented students to success are the teaching strategies used, the support they get from educational institutions and parents awareness for their child giftedness or talent. Additionally, this research seeks to help teachers follow students’ advancement in the subject from a different point of view.Link for e-copy: https://repository.seeu.edu.mk/sites/thesis/ThesisSharedDocs/MA_111810.pdf Record link: https://library.seeu.edu.mk/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=18447 Copies

Technology is very important in helping the students comprehend, acquire and absorb the things they are being taught. The learning of English language is no exception. This study aims to investigate and analyze ways in which technology, such as: computers, websites, social media, etc. are used for English learning purposes. It also intends to find how the use of technology can affect the learning process positively or negatively. Many things can be integrated inside the classroom facilities and help both the teachers and students make the learning process more interactive, by which the benefits are obvious. However, not everything about technology usage in the English language teaching works perfectly, therefore the possible ways in which the
participants of the teaching process might get distracted are existing. A number of 50 students (25 males, 25 females), aged 12-15 years old and two English teachers from rural parts of Vushtrri were part of the study. . To estimate the objectives mentioned above, qualitative and quantitative data were gathered to find out the pros and cons of using technology in the English language classes. The study was conducted in two primary schools from rural parts of Vushtrri. Quantitative data gathered from the students’ questionnaire helped find out the students’ points of view towards technology being used in their English classes. The questionnaires were distributed to 50 students, aged 12-15 years old. Another instrument used in this research was an experiment containing pre and post technology use test. The pre-tests were distributed to the students prior to using technology. After the pre-test, the target language was exposed to the students via technology. At the end of the experiment, a post-test took place to witness the benefits of using technology inside English classes and the differences in performance due to its integration. Questionnaires with closeended and open-ended questions were distributed to two English teachers from rural parts of Vushtrri to gather qualitative data which investigated their points of view towards technology in English classes. Therefore, the study aimed to find out the improvement in quality of learning English due to technology integration inside schools, as well as the perspectives of the students and teachers towards the implementation of it in English classes. The study showed the advantages of using technology as a facilitator of the English learning process in rural parts of Vushtrri, as well as the obstacles that it brings into classrooms. .. The duration of the study was two weeks and the data collected was followed by the thorough analysis of it by which are defined the advantages and disadvantages of using technology in English classes in rural parts of Vushtrri. Key words: technology, language, advantage, disadvantage, important.

Record link: https://library.seeu.edu.mk/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=20128 Copies

English is known to be language of the globe as majorities of countries in the world apply it as official second language. Also learning a new language, it is always a brilliant idea as it provides incredible benefits, taking under consideration even globally the brightest students can sometimes find themselves academically underperforming, often through no fault of their own. When students find themselves stuck in these kind of situation and feel uncomfortable and not being sure what to do or and how to improve their current situation. If this sounds like that, then we must find out the reasons why students may be underperforming, and then next step could be how to tackle the problem. As in few circumstances students are not sure how to go about it, so this topic has been designed to indicate what to or how to have better performance and help students achieve the deserved grades and results and by upgrading their language communication. In today's developments world is facing so many challenges in improving quality of education and learning, as students in few parts of the world are demotivated and leaning activity has fallen rapidly and considerably. As seeing nowadays students do not see studies as their first priority due to old methods and strategies being applied by teachers as result of that students' interest has declined. Therefore, this phenomenon has been thought and analyzed for dozens of years by corresponding experts that these old methods need to be taken out of usage as they are weakening students and student's learning has marked disadvantages in developing their skills. According to Novak (1998), "traditional teaching is concerned with the teacher being the controller of the learning environment" (p.24-25). Therefore, the method most often used is the teacher-fronted instruction. The applied of old system of teaching is not being considered to be successful, and at the same time there were conducted different research methods in order to find out what caused this decline of learning quality and actual demotivation caused. Authors Russell L. Ackoff and Daniel Greenberg (2008) point out that "today's education system is seriously flawed, it focuses on teaching rather than learning" (para.l) and this has been thought very carefully as what could be done more to change this flow and to bring new methods out with purpose to advance quality of education.Record link: https://library.seeu.edu.mk/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=20926 Copies
